What type of hospitals can I work in?

You can choose to work in many different types of hospital settings, ranging from prestigious teaching institutions to small, rural facilities. If you are used to working at small hospitals and prefer to continue to work at similar sized facilities, Premier Nursing Services will accommodate your preference. On the other hand, if you want to expand your horizons and try other hospital settings, we will plan for this, too.

What per diem shifts are available?

  • 7:00AM-3:30PM
  • 3:00PM-11:30PM
  • 11:00PM-7:30AM
  • 7:00AM-7:30PM
  • 7:00PM-7:30AM

Am I required to work a certain number of shifts to be employed by Premier Nursing Services?

No. You are your own boss. You set your own schedule. You choose the hospitals where you want to work and the shifts that you prefer. Although, we encourage our nurses to work full time with us, if possible.

What qualities will help me become a successful nurse?

Flexibility, a positive outlook, excellent clinical skills, and an eagerness to enjoy a new adventure. You need to be open to change and a quick learner. Good communication skills are also important in this exciting nursing field.

Would it be ok for me to join your agency if I already work for other nursing agencies?

Yes. As long as you efficiently manage your schedule among the nursing agencies that you work for. We would like to avoid any overlapping schedules that may create booking issues and confusion for us and for the hospitals.

Does your agency hire new graduates?

No. Premier Nursing Services hires nurses with at least 2 years of recent acute hospital experience.

Do you pay a higher rate if I was assigned to be a charge nurse?

We follow the hospital pay rates. You will get paid a higher rate for a charge nurse assignment if the hospital where you worked pays a higher rate for a charge nurse assignment.

Do you pay a higher rate on holidays?

Premier Nursing Services pays a higher rate on recognized holidays. The duration of the holiday pay depends on the facility protocol. The recognized Holidays are:

  • New Year
  • Independence Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

Do you hire independent 1099 contractors?

No, all Premier Nursing Service’s employees must fill out a W-4 form.
